The Converse Wade

Basketball superstar Dwyane Wade first created his own signature shoe, the Converse WADE, in 2005. Now he has a variety of signature shoes that he's worn over the years, and he's also been a part of the first apparel line Converse has developed for a professional athlete. Converse All-Stars

The most successful shoe in history, the Converse All-Stars originally gained popularity when basketball player Chuck Taylor started wearing them. They were first only available in black and later in white. But now they can be found in a variety of styles, materials, colors and prints! Some very cute prints are available and you can even make your own at the Converse website.

I'm also loving how Twilight’s Kristen Stewart has once again popularized this sneaker brand. Below I've included a photo from an amazing Vanity Fair photo shoot of the Twilight cast and an image of Kristen Stewart wearing a Yigal Azrouël dress at this year's MTV Movie Awards.

Shoshanna Made with Love Charlotte Ronson

It girls and best friends Charlotte Ronson and Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss collaborated this season on a bathing suit and beach line called Shoshanna Made With Love Charlotte Ronson. With this collection they brought us cute colorful printed bikinis and cover-ups. Even still, the pair went to highschool together in New York City on the Upper East Side, at a school rumored to have inspired Gossip Girl! Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss

Check out Shoshanna created by fashion designer and socialite Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss. She's famous for having dated Jerry Seinfeld in the 90's, but now her fashion line is making the headlines. She began by designing dresses and now continues to create mostly dresses and swimwear. You can find her clothes at various online stores and Holt Renfrew. More to come on this designer...

Charlotte Ronson

So everyone's heard of Samantha Ronson, the DJ that dated Lindsay Lohan, but did you know that she has a twin sister? The Ronson's were born in London, but raised in New York, and Charlotte Ronson is a well-established fashion designer with clothes that have a huge celebrity following. The Birkenstock

Birk's are back and as compfy as ever. This German shoe brand allows the sole's of their shoes to mold to your feet. I have the Gizeh style for the summer, but the clogs are cute for cooler days too. Not just for granola's anymore! I've also included here some Birkenstock designs by Heidi Klum.

L*Space

I'm currently obsessed with L*Space swimwear this season. The blue, chocolate, tangerine and plum solid colours are my faves, in the twist bandeau tops and tab bottoms. But they're also some great prints that can all be mixed and matched. Lots of celebs are wearing this brand, like Jessica Alba, Audrina Patridge, AnnaLynne McCord and Lindsay Lohan. As far as I know this brand is currently only available at online stores for Canadians, but there are a number of online locations that do ship internationally.

Nicole Richie's House of Harlow 1960

Nicole Richie launched House of Harlow 1960, her own line of jewellery in the fall. The collection was fittingly named after her daughter Harlow and designed for Mouawad. Heidi Klum also designed her jewellery collection for the same company. I like the rose gold pieces and affordable pricing of this venture. We hear she'll be expanding in the future too. I found pieces at Shopbop and Shop Kitson.

Gwyneth Paltrow on Goop

Have you heard about Gwyneth's website Goop? It's a 'lifestyle' website and she has a weekly newsletter that you can sign up for. The site gives you her personal look on nutrition, travelling, advice, exercise and fashion! Also she talks about how to wear some great pieces from her own closet, like in the pic below. And each week, her newsletter focuses on an action: Make, Go, Get, Do, Be, and See. She's always been a style icon of mine, so it's worth taking a look.

H&M Spring Summer 2009 Campaign

I just saw a couple of these H&M commercials and wanted to share. Completely odd but a great ad campaign!

J Brand Jeans

I think I have yet to mention my love for denim! I'm certainly lusting over J Brand Jeans at the moment. Especially the Love Story Bell Bottoms, but also the Cigarette and Pencil styles. These are some of my fav celebs wearing the brand. Look for this brand at Aritzia, Holt Renfrew, and Mendocino.

Happy 50th Birthday Barbie

This is the original Barbie doll launched in 1959 by Mattel and created by Ruth Handler. Barbie has of course been a fashion icon now for 50 years and subject to many controversies along the way. I hope she continues to wear the trends for the next 50 years. Long live Barbie!

Gladiator Sandals

Gladiator sandals are perfect for this Spring / Summer if you're going for the Boho Chic look that everyone's talking about. Mary-Kate Olsen can be seen here wearing Balenciaga and Chanel gladiators. I prefer the flat style over the high-heeled and I like the tall gladiators too boots, but really just not realistic for me. Check out the similarity between the Steve Madden Broose here and the Matt Bernson KM Gladiator in my previous post. The Steve Madden's are a great cheaper alternative, and easier to find. Also you can find many styles to choose from at Victoria's Secret.

Matt Bernson Sandals

I'm loving these sandals designed by Matt Bernson, especially the KM Gladiator worn by Nicky Hilton. Look for them at Urban Outfitters and revolveclothing.com. Stay tuned, more on gladiator sandals to come soon.

Lorick on Gossip Girl

Recently I wanted to find out more about the great clothes designed by Eleanor Waldorf's character on Gossip Girl. To my surprise I found that Abigail Lorick is actually the designer behind Eleanor's line. This New Yorker, model turned fashion designer, started the Lorick brand around the same time that Gossip Girl began after being friends with someone in the Gossip Girl wardrobe department. Blair's character often wears Lorick on the show.

Pussycat Dolls by Robin Antin ...Shhh

Remember Robin Antin from Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search For the Next Doll and Girlicious? Well she's the founder of The Pussycat Dolls and now she's at it again, but this time she's created a lingerie collection called Pussycat Dolls by Robin Antin ... Shhh for La Senza. So now we can all find our inner doll!

Is Megan Fox the new Angelina Jolie?

With the long dark hair, tattoos, puckery lips, vampire-esqe style and all, the similarity between Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie is uncanny. I'd say watch out Angie.

Tous is a Spanish luxury brand that's now being endorsed by Kylie Minogue. I loved their heart pendants that were being advertised everywhere for Valentine's Day. Different from the everyday plain jane heart pendant giving it a unique je ne sais quoi! You can find items at their online store and there's a store in Yorkdale mall.

Alexander McQueen Fall 2008

With his theatrical runway shows and controversial designs, I would without hesitation say that Alexander McQueen is my favourite designer. I've loved him since being with Givenchy for most of his career, and then with Gucci more recently. And now he has a collection called McQ that's mostly denim and can be found at net-a-porter.com. Look at the similarity between the first dress here and Kenley Collins wedding dress from Project Runway Season 5 in my previous post.

Balenciaga Spring 2008

Check out these wonderfully printed shoulder-padded style dresses from Balenciaga's Spring 2008 line. Very modern gladiator, especially with the tall sandal boots. Also, in 2008 Jennifer Connelly did these advertisements for Balenciaga. Take a look at the similarity between these dresses and a couple of Kenley Collins creations from Project Runway Season 5 in my previous post.

Project Runway's Kenley Collins

The vintage inspired designer, Kenley Collins, placed 3rd in Season 5 of Project Runway, however she was my favourite designer of the season. Her style is very old-Hollywood or modern day calendar girl. Check out her website where she has items for sale, including hair accessories. Her attitude didn't win her any points and she was also criticized for ripping off other major designers work. More on this later.

Propr

Ben Harper, David Arquette and David Bedwell have teamed up to start an eco clothing line for men and women called Propr to come out in the Spring! There are not many pics online of the clothes yet, but be on the lookout.

Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein

Brazilian-born Francisco Costa is the creative director of Calvin Klein and winner of the CFDA award for best womenswear designer of March 2006 and June 2008. He has designed a beautiful, however admittedly boxy, white and grey collection for the Spring. The lime green dress seen here on Elle Macpherson is an unforgettable design of his from 2005. More recently Eva Mendes has been his muse.
